As I continue blogging about the world of the survival prepper, now and again I will be assigning homework. Everyone loves doing homework, I know. This is your first assignment.
Right now, (if I haven't stressed that point enough yet) I want you to go and gather up all of your important papers, organize them and put them into a safe, easily accessible place. Someday, hopefully far away you will be very very thankful you did this today.
Step #1. Go get that mess you pass for organized and put it in front of you.
Step #2. Make copies or back up digitally as the case may be, all papers, ID's. (see list below)
Step #3. Get a water proof folder and put papers inside, then put that folder into a fireproof container or safe.
Here's what you are looking for:
ID's, including passports, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate
Deeds, Leases, Auto Registration, Bill of Sales, Wills, Trusts, Ownership papers
Insurance information; home, auto, renters, life...
3-6 years of Tax returns and any other financial paperwork
Your resume, Bank statements, Transcripts, Diplomas
Medical history, medication lists, prescriptions, Immunizations, blood type.
Addresses and phone numbers of family and friends, emergency contacts.
Pictures of everyone in your family plus pets.
Inventory and document with pictures and receipts anything valuable.
Anything else that may be small, paper and priceless to you.
Spare keys and Internet sites and passwords.
About $100 cash in twenties, tens, fives and ones.
